Stephen Muzhingi Relaxing during his short visit to Pietermaritzburg, fans, friends and wild animals

Posted in donnette e davis on February 28, 2013 by Donnette Fry (nè Davis)

Sadly he returns home to Zimbabwe tomorrow, but it has been a fantastic and inspirational experience to see the Stephen we knew years back compared to the dejected, despondent man be became over the last year.

I just want to share some photos with you. Munya Jari, record breaking winner of the Maritzburg Marathon this part Sunday, and Stephen are former tram mates, but great friends and both managed by Craig Fry, The support Stephen gave Munya on the road was fantastic, and each little bit went a long way to Munya smashing the 4 year record, and now holding the fastest time in the 27 year history of the race.

I snapped a few pics of them signing autographs and with fans as well as with our family during a visit to the Sanctuary Wildlife Care and Rehabilitation Centre as well s at the race and out and about where both men have become familiar and popular faces.

I am thinking Two Oceans Marathon in March will be tough with both of them, and Collen Makaza as well, also friend and former team mate and also managed by Craig Fry all vying for top positions…. Time will tell but I have a feeling Mr Muzhingi might want to defend his title J
